Students who earn ranks in this year’s Indian Institute of Technology entrance exam can for the first time pick their institute and course at the click of a mouse — even sitting at home.The country’s top engineering colleges have decided to abandon a tense counselling session that all students till now had to attend to gain admission.From now on, students will be asked to select online the IIT where they want to study as well as the course, through a facility the institutes have prepared.

Welcome to the Counselling Procedure

The admission process involves three steps-

  1. To know the details of the courses available at different IITs.
  2. Download the necessary Forms to be filled and sent to JEE office.
  3. Enter the list of courses in the order of your preference and submit on-line.
    1. Filling the Forms:
      To download the forms Click Here Carefully fill the forms, paste your recent photograph at the appropriate place and get it signed by you and your parent/guardian.
    2. Choice of Courses:
      You will be provided with a page which will give you the details about the courses available Institute-wise or disciplined wise.
    3. On-line Choice Filling Procedure:
      The choices of courses in the order of priority must be filled up by clicking on the link “On-line choice filling”. The site will allow you to save, print and submit at the end of the exercise. Print the final choices and it must be signed by you and your parent/guardian.
      Try to make your list big. More bigger it will more better it will be.


Points to keep in mind

  1. You are advised to write down the courses of your choice on a plain paper along with their 4-digit unique codes and arrange them in order of your preference before you start filling the choice sheet.
  2. If a candidate is unable to fill his/her on-line choice sheet, he/she can avail on-line form filling facility at the counselling institute. This facility will only be available from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM during June 9 – 12, 2010.
  3. For the exact date of counselling, please refer to the counselling letter. OBC/SC/ST/PD/DS candidates must submit signed copy of Choice sheet along with the Counselling Fee and get their certificates verified on the date of their counseling.
  4. Medical Examination of all PD candidates will be done only at the following IITs: Bombay, Delhi , Guwahati and Madras.
  5. All the candidates desirous of taking admission in B.Arch. (Kharagpur and Roorkee) and B.Des.(Guwahati) shall have to take Architecture / Design Aptitude Test and have to qualify in it.
